Jerry Lee Abel

Jerry Lee Abel, 79, Fairland, IN, died October 16, 2016 . He was born July 28, 1937 to Anna (Boring) Abel and Ray Abel. Jerry graduated from Moral High School in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Bernadine (Tillison) Abel in 1956. Jerry worked at Diamond Chain after graduation from high school until he retired in 1995. He loved his family and friends and spending time with them. He loved to travel and enjoyed farming and gardening. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Anna (Boring) Abel and father, Ray Abel. Survivors include wife, Bernadine (Tillison) Abel and children; Michael B. Abel of Hellertown, PA, and Cynthia D. Addleman (Robert) of Carmel, IN. Two grandchildren; Nicholas Scott Addleman M.D. and Melanie Sue Addleman, both of Indianapolis, IN, and two brothers; Jim Abel (Ruth)of Fairland, IN and Steven Abel (Manarda), of Fountaintown, IN Visitation for Jerry will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM with at Hendryx Mortuary – New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main St., New Palestine, IN 46163. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Brookfield Baptist Church, 8635 W. 800 N., Fairland, IN 46126. Burial will follow at Acton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are being handled by Hendryx Mortuaries.
