Jerry Anderson died at his home near Benson Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the age of 68.
Memorial services will be held Monday, September 22, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Rev. Steve Carmany will officiate and interment will be at Lake Hazel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 3-5 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Gerald Lynn Anderson was born December 17, 1956 in Starbuck, MN the son of Raymond and Jessie (Grussing) Anderson. Jerry was baptized at Lake Hazel Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church. He attended school in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1975 and then attended Willmar Vo-Tech for welding. Jerry worked for the BNSF Railroad for 31 years doing track maintenance. He was united in marriage with Carrie Flaten October 30, 1993 at Shepherd of the Hills in Swift Falls. They made their home on a farm near Benson. Jerry loved his dogs and his cats. He enjoyed hunting, especially pheasant, fox, and coyote hunting with his brothers. He also liked fishing and going for his daily drives. Back in the day, Jerry also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and old muscle cars. He loved driving his 1969 Olds 442.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie; two brothers: Gene (Donna) Anderson of Benson and David (June) Anderson of Glenwood; a sister, Connie Sankey of Glenwood; 2 brothers-in-law: Keith (Debbie) Flaten of Swift Falls and Lonnie (Linda) Flaten of Apple Valley; his mother-in-law, Betty Flaten of Swift Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his father-in-law, Eldon Flaten; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Flaten.
