Jerry Wayne Bagwell, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC. Born on April 15, 1948, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son to the late, Walter Bagwell, Jr. and Estelle Womick Bagwell
Jerry led a life engulfed in kindness and humor; he was known to all as a gentle soul who could always bring a smile to those around him. His laughter was contagious and often filled the room with warmth, creating many memories for his family and friends.
After four years of service in the United States Army, Jerry dedicated thirty years of his life to KOSA, formerly Hertz Fibers, before retiring. He found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, shooting pool, riding motorcycles, and enjoying listening to all kinds of music.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ann Farr Bagwell, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Together, they created a beautiful life full of laughter and love. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie Bagwell of Gaffney, and his nephews, Tony Farr (Crystal) of Spartanburg, John Farr (Melody) of Woodruff, and Johnny Farr (Melissa) of Oklahoma, as well as his niece, Lorri Drury of Spartanburg. Each of them held a special place in Jerry's heart, and they will forever treasure the memories they shared. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephews, Alfred Farr, Jr. and Brian Bagwell.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC. The funeral will follow at 3:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, with military honors. Services will be conducted by The Rev. Tommy Sparks.
Jerry Wayne Bagwell's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love he so freely gave.
