Fort Worth, Texas - Jerry Thomas Baker, 79, passed away peacefully Sunday Dec. 18, 2022.
Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood. Following the service on Tuesday there will be a reception at the River Oaks Event Center, 5300 Blackstone Drive.

He was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth who proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for six years (1965-1971). After that he worked as a union machinist at General Dynamics and then Bell Helicopter for a total of 40 years. Jerry was an avid golfer and won several trophies in different tournaments. Aside from his family, his biggest love was music. At 21 he learned to play the guitar and continued to play his whole life. He also had a beautiful singing voice and often combined that with his guitar playing to entertain others. During his retirement, Jerry led a band that performed at several local senior centers.
Preceded in death by his parents, Tyra and Lola Mae; and brother, Cecil with whom he is now singing with in Heaven.
Survivors: Wife of 47 years, Linda; three children, John (Niki) of Fort Worth, Kathy of Malone and Rich of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, John L.; and sister, Shirley Richardson.
