Jerry Leon Baker Sr., age 65, of Elwell, MI died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes. Jerry was born in St. Louis, Michigan on April 20, 1944, the son of Ken and Adella Baker. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1963. Jerry served in the US Navy, and worked for Alma Products as a machinist for many years. Jerry was a very caring person, and loved to be around his grandkids. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his granddaughter Cheyenne. He also loved to camp, and enjoyed it when the families got together. Jerry loved spending all of his time with the love of his life, Carol. He is survived by his fianc饠Carol Welch of Elwell, MI, son JJ and Chris Baker of Chicago, IL, daughter Tammy and Leo Kennedy of Breckenridge, MI, 5 stepchildren; Linda Liberty of Petoskey, MI, Al and Carol Schultz of Florida, Lorriane Spivey of Florida, Anthony Schultz of Alma, MI, Ron and Vicki Schultz of Charlevoix, MI, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his parents Ken and Adella Baker of Shepherd, MI, 3 brothers; Ken and Micki Baker of Lakeview, MI, Dub Baker of Vestaburg, MI, Stan and Frankie Baker of Sanford, MI, sister Marge and Wally Green of White Cloud, MI, Carols children; Jamie and Greg Foglesong of Ithaca, MI, and Steven Welch and Jen of Alma, MI.
