Condolences to the family. Jerry Joe was my mentor from the trappers college. He helped drive my passion for trapping, and I learned so much in not only the week he was my instructor, but also all the times we spent chit chatting at the conventions. Outstanding human being in all aspects. His genteelness in his demeanor touched everyone he came in contact with. He will truly be missed. Tight chains Jerry Joe.

Jerry Joe was always ready to encourage and share of himself. He was an example of what an accomplished individual should aspire to: humble and available to share. He was quick to point out your successes, slow to toot his own bugle and ready to teach and share what he knew. We need more of his kind in our society as a whole, more so in the ranks of the trapping community. Miss Debbie, you and your family will be in my prayers.

Jerry Joe was one heck of a man! Not only an excellent trapper but a stewart for trappers. He had a personality that was thoughtful and kind; he listened to you. A true leader and like others like him he was an excellent teacher. I'll miss that smile and handshake. RIP Jerry.
