Jerry "Barney" Barnette

Jerry "Barney" Barnette was a beloved member of our family. On September 11, 2003, he was shot and killed outside his place of business. We were devistated by this loss. 10 months later, a man was arrested on unrelated charges and after his stepson was heard discussing the events leading up to Jerry's murder earlier that year, the bond was raised and the juvinile was also taken into custody. We waited 2 and a half years for justice and in that time, the prosocution did nothing. Because the 2 suspects remained in jail for so long without a trial, they were released in December 2006 and the prosucution failed to notify the family of the hearings or the release until Jan 2007.
