Jerry Berger Obituary

Jerry Robert Berger

1940 -2025

Lehi, Utah - Jerry Robert Berger

June 2, 1940 – October 31, 2025

Jerry Robert Berger passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Driggs, Idaho on June 2, 1940, Jerry was the eldest of four brothers-Rick, Chris, and Joel. He grew up in Milford, Utah and later made his home in the Salt Lake Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Faye (Kunz) and Robert Berger; brothers Rick and Chris.

Jerry married Dianne Riley and together they had two children, Todd and Holly. After their divorce, Jerry married Jody Palmer, with whom he built a life rooted in love, laughter, and deep connection. They had two children, Brett (Bethany) and TK (Stevie), and shared a relationship that was truly special. Even as Alzheimer's dimmed parts of his memory, Jerry never forgot Jody's face or the love they shared.

He found profound joy in his children-Todd, Holly, Brett, and TK-and held deep gratitude for the unique relationships he built with each of them. His legacy continues in his grandchildren: Morgan (Dallin), Lauren, Colton, Beau, Bobbie Faye, Liv, Logan, Colette, and Jude.

Jerry was an adventurer at heart. He rode broncs and bulls, skied, and spent countless days hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a natural teacher, always eager to share his skills and experiences with others. As a ski instructor for over 30 years, he brought joy and confidence to countless students-and always made sure his family was part of the adventure. Later in life, his passions shifted to golf and coaching baseball, but his love for the mountains never waned. If it meant being outdoors, Jerry was game. He especially cherished his extended family in Idaho and the time he spent with them.

Jerry was a people person in the truest sense. His warmth, humor, and love of pranks made him a magnet for friendship. He valued shared experiences and was always ready to lend a hand or a laugh.

Guided by the principles of love, trust, and honesty, Jerry lived a life of integrity. He believed that honesty was the key to his success and held himself accountable with quiet strength. If you were a friend or family member, you knew-Jerry had your back.

He was also a man of transformation. Whether spiritually, emotionally, or physically, Jerry had the courage to grow. His willingness to change and improve was one of his most honorable traits.

Jerry's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and the power of personal growth. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Jerry, I see his legacy reflected in his son, TK.

TK is a man who is thoughtful about his impact on others, committed to growth, drawn to adventure, and deeply caring.

I can only assume these qualities were nurtured by a loving father and I would like to celebrate the life of someone who passed on such remarkable traits.

Jerry was one of the first people we met after moving into Brookhaven. From the start, he welcomed us with a warm smile and a kind heart.

He set the standard for green, pristine lawns—perfectly matched by Jody’s immaculate flower gardens.

We’ll always remember peaceful summer evening walks and the laughter from his stories of life in Milford and Driggs.

Though he had a successful career, Jerry remained humble.

What touched us deeply was his deep testimony and love for Jesus Christ and His gospel.

We will miss him dearly. Jody, we love you and pray for peace and strength during this tender time.

Jerry will always be near the top of the list of friends and family we hope to reunite with when our own journey through mortality is complete.
