Jerry Blanchard Obituary
He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on December 31, 1949.
Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, remote controlled airplanes, guitars and beach and country music. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was a United States Navy Vietnam veteran. He spent most of his life as a supervisor in the manufacturing industry. He was also Assistant Director of the Battleship North Carolina in Wilmington, NC. Jerry was a member of American Legion Post #503 in Calabash, NC.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Joel Blanchard Sr. and Lela Mae (Spickard) Blanchard and a brother, Joel (Sonny) Blanchard Jr. Surviving is his loving wife of 38 years, Valerie (Roseman) Blanchard whom he met at the first Carolina Beach Music Festival. Together they shared a love of the ocean and beach music. Also surviving is his daughter, Sandra (Sandy) Birkner (Glenn), a son, Jerry W. Blanchard Jr. (Misty), of Illinois; two sisters, Sandra Beard, and Janice Shrable (Dale); grandchildren, Brandi, Brittany, Jessica, Nicholas, Lillie, Brendan and Reese; ten great grandchildren and one on the way.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Brunswick Funeral Services Shallotte Chapel. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11:30 am on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

I will miss Jerry´s posting on face book. He was a high school friend even though our lives took us different directions we stayed in touch I´m thankful to God to have had his friendship My prayers go out to his family.
