Visitation for Jerry Alan Browning will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on April 23, 1941, to Len and Claretta Browning in Post, TX. He passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 84.
Jerry spent his formative years in Brownfield, where he graduated from Brownfield High School before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Army. As an Expert Marksman, he dedicated his service as a mail room clerk, a role that showcased his meticulous nature and attention to detail.
After his time in the Army, Jerry continued his career at the Brownfield United States Postal Service, where he maintained his commitment to serving the community. He briefly explored his interest in mechanics before discovering his true passion for farming, which he often referred to as his "heaven on earth." His love for the land and its bounty was deeply intertwined with his identity.
In pursuit of a shared dream, Jerry obtained his Shampoo Technician Certification in Texas to join his beloved wife, Linda Nell Cloe, in her beautician work. The couple married in 1984 in Brownfield, and for nearly 42 remarkable years, they traveled, engaged in multi-level marketing, and enjoyed life together. Their laughter and partnership were the bedrock of their life, characterized by Jerry's unique sense of humor and joy in life’s simple pleasures.
Jerry was a man of faith, loving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and devoting his time to sharing that passion with others.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Len and Claretta Browning; his beloved wife, Linda Browning; 2 brothers, Michael and Ronnie Browning; son-in-law, Robert Barber; and brother-in-law, Jim Hamm. He is survived by his 3 children, Kim Barber, Mark (Bonnie) Browning, and Robert "Robby" (Amy) Browning; brother, Tyrone (Lana) Browning; sister, Rocky Hamm; 2 sisters-in-law, Deaun Cloe and Donna Browning; 10 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
