Jerry Everette Byrd, II, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
A wonderful son, brother, nephew and friend to many, Jerry was loved by everyone as a result of his loving, caring and friendly manner.
Jerry was always willing to use his God given talents in any way to help others. After graduating from Clemson University and then securing his MBA from Appalachian State University, Jerry became a Certified Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch. His love for building and the outdoors, however, lead him to secure his General Contractor License & Federal Contract License. Thereafter he spent many years as a project manager and then Senior Project Manager, completing numerous Federal and State projects in many different states. His last projects were in the area surrounding Vancouver, Washington.
Jerry had a gift for knowing exactly what was needed, or how to research and determine what was needed, to repair most anything. An incredibly generous person, he loved dogs, had a mind for math, and a sense of humor. He left this earth to meet Jesus in heaven two days after his 55th birthday.
Jerry leaves behind his father, Jerry Everette Byrd; his mother, Louise Masten Byrd; his sister, Laura Byrd Burt and brother-in-law, Michael Burt; his nephew, Bailey Burt; his nieces, Stephanie Burt and Alli Burt; his friend, Christy Taylor Dameron, to whom he was previously married; his friend, Jennifer Wicks and her children; his uncles and aunts, Larry and Brenda Byrd and Mary and Dennis Hayes; many cousins and many friends.
A memorial service will be held for Jerry on Sunday, August 10, 2025, starting at 4:00PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
