Jerry Wayne Calhoun, 78, of Higden, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025.Born on September 28, 1947, in Little Rock, he was the son of the late Willard Walsh and Ella Estelle Stone Calhoun.
Jerry dedicated his life to service—both to his country and to his community. He spent 32 years with Southwestern Bell and AT&T, where he worked from 1968 until his retirement in 2000. He also served his state and nation with deep honor and commitment in the Army National Guard, retiring in 2009 as a Command Sergeant Major after 42 years of distinguished service.
A true outdoorsman, Jerry found joy in the simplest and truest things: time with family and friends, a good day in the woods, and any chance to hunt or fish. His steady presence, dry humor, and quiet strength made him someone people naturally looked to and loved.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; his daughters, Angie Young (Bob) of North Little Rock and Sarah Fincher (Wade) of El Paso; his grandchildren, Ashley, Davey, and Benjamin; and his brother, Kenneth Calhoun (Becky).
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Calhoun and Dwight Calhoun.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
