I first met Jerry and his older sister while in Vandalia elementary school and
Cassopolis High School. Although I haven't seen either in many, many years, I still
recall what a kind and friendly
person Jerry was. His family have my deepest sympathy.

Oh man, so sorry Karen. Jerry was a wonderful advisor to me when I taught at CMS. He was so kind, helpful, non-judgmental, and fun. I enjoyed his guidance as a new teacher. Thinking of you, Karen. I also got to enjoy your wisdom when I moved to an elementary setting.

He was a great teacher. I had him as my teacher in 6th grade. I remember him and Mr. Reese´s rivalry.

I had the honor of having Mr. Culp in 6th grade at PCMS. He was always so much fun and truly cared for his students. I will always remember him talking to his plants "because they grow be that way" and he and Mr. Vandam having a running joke about wearing elevator shoes. I was able to run into him again a few years ago when he came into my workplace. I'm so thankful I was able to see him again. He will always be one of my favorite teachers. My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of teaching with Jerry at Portage Central Middle School. Jerry was always smiling and sharing great stories. He was loved by both students and staff. I think of Jerry whenever I see a yorkie.

I´d like to share my condolences to the Culp family. I first met Jerry playing softball and paddleball. He seemed a gentleman on the field of play who was a competitor who wanted to win, but enjoyed striking up a conversation with his opponents. I didn´t spend a lot of time with Jerry, however I found him to be a gentle soul who liked people. I would guess that he was a great teacher. Again, my condolences.

Having known Jerry for over fifty years, I could not have asked for a better friend or fellow teacher. Jerry always made every day special with his wonderful sense of humor. He'll be missed every day by a lot of people whose lives he touched and made better.

I had Mr. Culp for 5th grade at Pershing Elementary. I didn´t know back then it was his first year of teaching (1966). One day I brought to school my first place pinewood derby car. It was on the desktop and Lori Radabaugh raised the desktop. The car hit the floor and broke. Mr. Culp had to console me that day.
