Jerry Domino Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home - Mount Pleasant on Dec. 3, 2025.
On January 16th, 1944 Jerry Dean Domino was born in his grandmother's home on Sam Hill to his loving parents Eugene Domino and Jessie "Jewel" Sullivan Domino. After his birth, friends, Zane Covey (Lebsack), and her mother, Pauline Covey, came to see this new baby boy. All the visitors were making a fuss about this new baby, but young Zane seemed confused. She said, "What is all the fuss about over this baby? Don't you know it snowed last night? Just look at all the snow!" Zane always loved telling this story about Jerry's birthday.

In the next few years, Mr. Domino built a house in Old Union where Jerry attended school for the first time. Shortly after, they moved to Mt. Pleasant where Jerry attended second grade. One year later they packed up and moved back to Sam Hill/Argo, the place of his birth. Jerry completed all the grades Argo had to offer. He then returned to Mt. Pleasant to complete his high school education. This is also the place where he met the love of his life, June Ellen Hudson.

After graduation, Jerry attended Draughon College and earned his degree in Drafting. Returning to Argo, he got a job with the Texas Highway Department helping map out Interstate 30 between Mt. Pleasant and New Boston. Jerry and June were married on Groundhog Day 1963. Shortly after came the birth of their first daughter, Rahonda Ann Domino. During the next five years, Jerry drew the plans for his new family home. Jerry and Eugene worked hard building the home themselves while young Rahonda would ride her pony through the house until all the walls were up.

Jerry added to his Drafting career by taking a job with Lone Star Steel. A mere six years later came the birth of their second daughter, Babetta Jean Domino. The closing of Lone Star Steel led Jerry to another adventure with Pilgrim's Pride. This would be his "till retirement job", but plans have a funny way of working out. Pilgrims was bought out leading to another career change. Jerry drew plans for Longview Fab. Things were going great until a stroke happened

During his career he drew many plans for homes, businesses, doctor's offices, X-ray rooms, the Titus County Extension Agent's building, the Oak Grove Church of Christ where he was a member, a Doggie Day Care for his granddaughter, Juhree, and let's not forget the fantastic tree house, shops, and well houses.

After having several illnesses including his stroke, heart, kidneys and a bout with cancer, Jerry suffered his final illness of a heart attack on November 29th, 2025, just 15 hours before he was to celebrate Thanksgiving with family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Jewel Sullivan Domino; father, Eugene Davis Domino; brother, Reggie Lynn Domino; nephew, Ricky Mart Domino.

Jerry is survived by his wife, June Ellen Hudson Domino; daughter, Rahonda Ann Domino Moore; granddaughter, Juhree Nicole Taylor and her husband Zackary Neil Taylor; grandson, Zachary Daniel Taylor Farrell and fianceé Jordon Elizabeth Anderson; daughter, Babetta Jean Domino Seibel and husband Melvin Douglas Siebel; granddaughter, Carley Marie Crouse; and grandson, Carson Dean Crouse; nephew, Randy Lynn Domino and wife TC Johnson Domino; and great-niece, Mitzi Lynn Long and husband Jermey Long; great-great-niece, Addy Blair Long, and great-great nephew, Kiptyn Scott Long.

A special thanks go out to Roy Allen and David McCain, both deceased, Dale Raney, Mary Ann Hammonds, Jo Ann Collier, and Billy Bell for keeping Jerry up to date with the latest happenings around the community and for keeping his mind and soul active.

A celebration honoring Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Argo Volunteer Fire Department.

I am so grateful for the many kindnesses Jerry and June Ellen showed my parents over the decades they lived as neighbors. It is with sadness and joy that I mourn his passing. Peace be with you brother.

June Ellen, i´m so sorry to hear of Jerry`s passing. I know he will be greatly missed. I´ve heard the story of his birth, many times and the snow. When I read his obituary, I did smile you´ll never know however, very important you were in my parents lives. I´m sorry I´m not there to give you a hug or help you during this difficult time. Just know that I love you, and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. You know if my mom and dad were still here they´d be helping you right now. They loved you and Jerry like their own children. God bless you, tell your girls to stay and help you.
Love you,
Sally
