Jerry W. Dowell

Jerry W. Dowell, 80, of Summit Road Bradford, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Olean General Hospital, Olean.

Born June 16, 1945, Bushkill, he was a son of the late Link and Pearl (Woodard) Dowell.

On September 18, 1965, in Bradford, he married Linda L. (Johnson) Dowell who survives.

Jerry had been employed by the City of Bradford for over 40 years. He was responsible for the city streets and did the plowing and street sweeping during the summer.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, camping, campfires and being outdoors. He was a mechanic for his family and friends. He was an awesome husband, father, and Papa. He enjoyed raising dog especially Boomer, his favorite.

Surviving in addition to his wife Linda, of 59 years, are two daughters, Brenda (David) Brien, of Sugergrove, Beth (Ron) Bhe, of Derrick City, one son, Jerry Dowell, of Bradford, five grandchildren, Chad Dowell, Tyler Brien, Courtney Brien, Brent Vecellio, and Blake Vecellio, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Dowell, of Hazelhurst, and Paul Dowell, of Lafayette, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Marion Dallenbach, and three brothers, Link Dowell Jr., Bruce Dowell, and Boyd Dowell.

At Jerry's request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
