Jerry Lee Durington, born June 9,1940 to Roma and Edna (Stafford) Durington, passed away at the family farm on November 16, 2025, surrounded by family and supported by friends. Married to Zadie (Neal) with whom he shared many adventures and a beautiful life, and became "Momma Zadie" and Grandma to his children and grandchildren. Jerry's love of the family farm Northeast of Buffalo in Dallas County at the Homeplace where the Durrington's homesteaded in the mid-1800s. It was evident to anyone who knew him and he loved to share the farm and family history. Jerry worked many years for Solid State Circuits. After moving back to the farm, he worked for the US Postal Service and farmed. His family will always remember his sense of humor, quick wit, creative thinking, necessary inventions and strong love for his family. He taught us what he learned from his parents: respect for others, strong work ethic and responsibility. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Bob Durington (spouses: Linna and Jewel); and sister, Melba (spouse Wayne). He is survived by his wife, Zadie; his children, Daniel Durington (wife Julia), Chrystal Younger (husband Mark), and Melissa Sharples; grandchildren, Jeremiah Sharples (wife Sarah), Sydney Romero (husband Ulysses), Hannah Younger, Ian Younger, Emma Durington and Jessica Durington; great-grandchildren, Raiden Sharples, Loreli Sharples, Piper Sharples, Isaiah Romero and Phoebe Romero; as well as many nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank Ron Hallemeier and Dean Wilkerson for their caring friendship and support to Jerry in the recent years. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Canton-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, with graveside service at Riverview Sweaney Cemetery by Pastor Dennis Miller (nephew of Jerry). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Riverview Sweaney Cemetery Fund at O'Bannon Bank. With the weather expected this week, the family has requested casual dress for Saturday and appropriate footwear for a muddy/soft cemetery.
