Jerry Ford Obituary
Jerry grew up in Fort Gibson where he attended school. He joined the United States Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Jerry joined the Oklahoma National Guard and completed his service in 1969 as an E-5 Sergeant. He started his career as an electrician and was well known as always being there when needed. He met and later married his best friend, Bea Rose on September 22, 1963 in Stilwell, OK. Their marriage stood the test of time of 59 years, six months and nine days making beautiful memories together. Jerry was a volunteer fireman for Fort Gibson and enjoyed reading Western Novels. His passion was farming and ranching. Jerry was always busy planting or harvesting and tending to his livestock. He will be missed by many.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Gertrude Ford; brothers, Randy Ford, H.J. Ford, and Charles Ford; sisters, Ruthie Belle Thouvenel, Shirley Yandell, Delphia Jean Murry, Connie Faye Hiseley, and Iva Mae Stills.
Those left to cherish Jerry's memory are his wife, Bea of the home; daughter, Darla Ford; sons, David Ford, Dustin Ford and wife Janelle, Derek Ford and wife Angie all of Fort Gibson, OK; his brother, Don 'Duck' Ford of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Jacob, Josh, Drew and wife Angel, Lindsay, Lauren, Kaitlin, Austin and wife Elizabeth, Levi and Nico; great-grandchildren, Penelope, Truitt, Isabella, Arika, Robbie and Cynara extended family and many friends.
A visitation will be held, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with Jerry's family greeting friends, 5PM-7PM.
A celebration Jerry's life is scheduled for 10AM Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Crescent Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Brooks Deatherage officiating.
A private family committal service will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at a later date.
The family of Jerry Dale Ford has entrusted his cremation, services and burial to Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson. 918-478-2555.

Jerry was my mom's double cousin and therefore my second cousin. I could not have built my first house without him and he had such a big heart and probably helped out hundreds of people in the Fort Gibson area and many are still in his debt. My condolences to his family

My sympathies to all the family. Jerry it was always helping out those in need and had a great heart! I could not have built my first house without him and many in town I'm sure still owe him a debt of gratitude. He was my mom's double cousin so I guess my second cousin

My dad, Mickey Brown, sure thought a lot of Jerry. He did the electrical work in all the homes he built. I remember him stopping by for visits when y´all lived up the street. He will be missed. Joy
