Jerry Bryan “Pat” Gallagher, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was the husband of Barbara Ware Gallagher.
Pat was born July 29, 1931, in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late Fred Odell Gallagher and Edith Wood Gallagher. Pat honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was retired from General Electric where he worked as an Industrial Engineer. He was also a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Bryan Gallagher and wife, Wendy of Richmond, his half-brother Claiborne Compton of Richmond, two grandchildren: Patrick Gallagher of Appomattox, and Lauren Gallagher of Lynchburg.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Mike, Rawlings, and Gene Gallagher, and a sister, Sheila Carwile. Shortly after his passing, his great-granddaughter passed away, Layla Faith Gallagher.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. Interment will be held privately at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
