Jerry Gordon Obituary
Mr. Jerry N. Gordon, age 83, of Lewisburg, TN, died Wednesday, Apr. 23, 2025. Born in Crestview, FL, and raised in Milligan, FL Jerry was a son of the late Thomas Nathaniel Gordon and Annie Velma Garrett Gordon. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Elaine Gordon Everette; a sister, Sarah Elaine Gordon; a brother, David Garrett Gordon.
Jerry graduated from Baker High School where he was a star basketball player for the Baker Gaters. He earned his BA Degree from Upper Iowa University in 1975. He started work at Monsanto Chemical Co. in Pensacola, FL after which he moved to Greenwood, SC, then to Albertville, AL. Moving to Lewisburg, TN, Jerry assumed the role of Vice-President at Reliance Pen and Pencil. Following the sale to Faber Castell he served as Vice- President of Logistics. After Faber was sold, he assumed the position of a Funeral Director and managed Howell-Lawrence Funeral Home in Shelbyville, TN for 7 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, a City Councilman in Lewisburg, TN for 7 years, a Deacon and Treasurer at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Jerry was a 2011 member of Leadership Marshall and presently served on the Lewisburg Planning and Zoning Board.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Emily L. Gordon of Lewisburg, TN; 3 daughters, Lana Gordon (Kerry) Thames of Birmingham, AL; Gina Gordon (Kirk) Harbison of Pinson, AL; Trina Gordon Slappey of Guntersville, AL; 2 sons, John David (Donna) Pierce II, of Lewisburg, TN; Andrew L. (Pam) Pierce of Lewisburg, TN; 3 brothers, Tom L. (Virginia) Gordon of Micanopy, FL; Bobby Gene (Joyce) Gordon of Bagdab, FL; Terry L. (Jodie) Gordon of Abbeville, GA; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, Apr. 26, 2025 from 10 AM – 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home and 2 PM – 3PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3347 Franklin Pike, Lewisburg, TN 37091. Funeral service will follow the visitation at the church at 3PM.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory and honor of Jerry may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3347 Lewisburg Pike, Lewisburg, TN 37034.
