Jerry Dean Heifner was born on April 30, 1954 to parents, Jerald Eugene and Ardis June (Lee) Heifner in Estherville, IA. Jerry was a graduate of Lincoln Central High School in Gruver, IA. He also attended one year at Spencer School of Business as a young adult.
Jerry married Janet (Stroud) Heifner on August 9th, 1975. The two became parents to Jonathan in 1982. Jerry spent most of his working years at A.Y. McDonald Supply in Spencer, until he retired in 2019.
Jerry lived a quiet and simple life. He was a considerate sibling, a loving spouse, and caring father. Jerry did not often seek the spotlight, but he diligently cared for those closest to him without wanting much attention.
Even as he neared the end of a short health battle, Jerry could say he lived a life of contentment, and he lived and died with the assurance of God’s grace.
On November 14, 2025, Jerry died at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, his son, Rev. Jonathan Heifner (Stephanie), his one grandson, Charles, and his sisters, Donna (Tim) Handeland and Lori (Dave) Wilson. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald and Ardis Heifner, step-mother, Myrtle (Probst) Heifner, and brother, Larry Heifner.
