Jerry Hoeppner

1934 - 2023

Jerry Hoeppner, 88, of Port Hadlock went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2023.

Jerry was born October 4, 1934, in Kettle Falls, WA. Due to unforeseen circumstances at a very young age, Jerry was adopted by Jack and Elfrida Hoeppner. He was raised in Clallam Bay where he graduated in 1952.

Jerry was married to Loretta (Jacobson) in November of 1953 and celebrated 64 years of marriage and later raised eight children.

Jerry worked in many industries such as logging and construction. He was an equipment operator for Boeing, a business owner of two businesses on the Olympic Peninsula; One was a construction company and the other as a dairy distributor. He also served in the US Navy Seabees, a construction battalion, for 26 years. He retired as a Embark Chief Petty Officer.

Jerry was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and a friend to many people. He enjoyed many different hobbies; hunting, fishing, gardening and any outdoor activity which always included his family. In later years, he really loved sitting outside his deck overlooking the Puget Sound and tending to his beloved yellow roses. Jerry will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his giving nature and willingness to help anyone in need, but most importantly his love for his family.

Jerry is survived by his children: Lon (Kay) Hoeppner, Michael (Connie) Hoeppner, Laurie (Joe) Crouch, Patty (Steve) Campbell, Shawn Hoeppner, Jannette (Joel) James, and Jerry (Jenni) Hoeppner, and his loving companion Sylvia Bryson.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his wife, Loretta Hoeppner; son Jack Hoeppner; his parents, Jack and Elfrida Hoeppner; brothers Henry Nelson, Arnold Nelson and sister Betty (Hoeppner) Nelson.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Fred Lewis Scout Cabin located in Port Townsend WA on 3075 Discovery Road from 12pm-4pm.
