Jerry Holmes Obituary
Funeral services celebrating the life of Jerry Lamar Holmes, 86, of Keatchie, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Longstreet Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Dean Register.
Jerry was born on October 17, 1939 to Ralph and Alma Holmes and passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025. Jerry was in the dairy business for 50 years. He served on the DeSoto Soil and Water Conservation District Board and Panola-Harrison Electric Cooperative Board.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Alma Holmes; sister, Doris Bagley; and twin grandsons, Wyatt Colton Bandy and Justin Lane Bandy.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Christal Headrick Holmes; son, Lamar Holmes (Kelli); daughter, Christi Holmes Kappelman; brother, Jimmy Holmes, Sr.; grandchildren, Cody Holmes (Tori), Lori Tyson (Kyle), Hanna Toon (Sam), Gary Kappelman, and Cooper Holmes; great-grandchildren, Sutton Holmes, Steelie Holmes, Cutter Holmes, and Koleson Toon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Regena Green and Delois Washington for their love and care for Jerry during his illness.
Honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be Cody Holmes, Cooper Holmes, Gary Kappelman, Sam Toon, Kyle Tyson, and Mike Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the board members of Panola-Harrison Electric Cooperative and the board members of DeSoto Soil and Water Conservation District.
