Dear Thelma and the Krause family,

We are so sad to hear of Jerry's death. We have wonderful, wonderful memories of time spent with him and with all of you. We remember dinners in Boston and Chicago, summer "adventures" at Mount Hood and on other championship trips and just Jerry as an incredibly loyal and steadfast friend.
My father in law, Tex, is 95 now and cannot write for himself but he has expressed his great sadness at the passing of a beloved friend.
Thank you for being with us at the Hall of Fame ceremony and the many calls Jerry has made to Chris and to Tex in the last few years.

With great memories and great love,

Kim and Chris Winter and for Tex and Nancy Winter and the rest of the Winter family

Thelma and family my deepest condolences! Jerry and I were very close friends in the early 70s and I always found him a sincere kind compassionate human being! Unfortunately in the past few years we've drifted apart and I'm very sad that this happened! My sincere sympathies to you and the family! Walter Kaiser Chicago Illinois

Thelma, Deeon and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Jerry's death. You two have been wonderful friends for many years and he will be missed. His dry wit and down to earth humility made him an every man in a star filled world. I love that he and I fished in your pond and he told stories of the early days at catcher and learning to scout while you and Deeon shared wine and talked of afmily. We loved sharing happy family events with the both of you and yours. Jerry was kind and grascious and a true friend. We know he is in a better place. May he rest in peace.

Thelma: Sue, Shannon, Lisa and I were deeply saddened as we learned of Jerry's passing. The world knew Jerry as the GM of the Bulls, but we knew him as a kind and gentle man who always had something positive to say to our family. Our hearts go out to you and the kids and grandkids! Someone once asked me what I wanted to be remembered for - my response - "a nice guy." Jerry was the definition of a "nice guy" to those who really knew him. I and my family will never be able to thank you for all you and Jerry did for us during our time together in Chicago. May Jerry always rest in peace!

Thelma & family,

I knew Jerry when he was a teenager, as our father's were childhood friends. I had a chance meeting with him at the Deerfield Barnes & Noble about 10 years ago. I introduced myself to him. He was so warm, gracious and friendly. He, of course remembered my mother & Dad and asked me about them by name. Pretty good memory. He even remembered the work my Dad did in his house in Skokie almost 50 years earlier.
May his memory be a blessing to you all forever.

It takes a team to succeed!

My deepest condolences to Thelma and the entire Krause family as well as the Bulls organization. Thank you for all that you did as Bulls general manager. You made the Chicago Bulls to what they achieved on the court by surrounding M.J. with a core and improving the roster year-by-year during those championship years.
