Jerry Parson Miller

Jerry Parson Miller passed away at his home on February 2, 2026 surrounded by his family at age 85. Jerry Parson Miller was born in Tellico Plains, Tennessee on March 16, 1940 to Parents Henry Franklin Miller and Della Lee Freeman Miller. He attended Rural Vale School where he completed the 6th grade before going to work cutting pulp wood and helping with family farm until he married Elsie LouElla Evans in 1957. They had nine children together. In 1981 Jerry married his second wife Barbara Ann Adams.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Elsie LouElla Evans (1986)and Barbara Ann Adams(2011). Children Kenneth Jerry Miller, Johnnie Ray Miller, Shirley Jean Miller, Roy Lee Miller, Charles Franklin Miller. As well as his parents Henry Franklin Miller( Della Lee Freeman Miller), grandparents Robert Franklin Miller(Lydia Jane Freeman Miller), John Henry Freeman ( Matalyda ). Brothers RL Miller( Corky), Sam Miller (Edith), Golie William Miller ( Wilma), Robert Boyd Miller (Annie), William Leslie Miller (Betty),Wesley Miller, Lee Sterling Miller ( Barbara). Sister Laura Mae Eller(Jimmy).

Jerry is survived by his four children Phyllis (Robert Duane) Freeman, Mike Parson Miller (Debbie), Hubert Ray Miller, Joyce Markert (Mike). Grandchildren Brandy Miller Russell, Jessie Michelle Best, Hank Wade Miller, Jodie Lynn Gaston, Shannon Nicole Lee Bain, Robert Mathew Gaston, Katherine Rene Parks, Franklin Duane Freeman. Nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jerry as a young man worked on his family's farm, cutting pulp wood and sawmilling. After marrying Elsie LouElla Evans he moved to Florida where he worked in Juice plants and rock mines driving a truck. He later lived in North Georgia working yarn and carpet mill as well as truck driving for many years. In later years after marrying Barbara Ann Adams he settled in Ocoee Tennessee until his death.

Jerry was a family man who enjoyed time with his family. He loved camping, hunting and fishing. He taught those skill to his boys at a young age. He also enjoyed gardening, loved raising watermelons with his grandchildren.

Graveside service & interment 3 P.M. Friday, Rural Vale Cemetery, Rev. Vernon Webb officiating. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home Tellico Plains.
