Jerry Sylvester Mills, 82, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was born on October 22, 1942, son of the late Dowd Ransom Mills and Pauline Edwards Mills. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dean Helms; brother-in-law, Bob Helms; sister-in-law, Dianne Mills and brothers-in-law, Pete Tomberlin and Nat Greene and his grandson, Jonathon Mills.
Jerry was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Mills is survived by his wife, Sue Kiker; sons, Danny Mills, Mike Mills (Sandy) and Rusty Kiker (Alisha); grandson, Colton Mills; brother, Robert Mills; and sisters, Ann Tomberlin and Dot Greene.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC. The family will visit with friends and relatives prior to the service from 1:30 – 2:45 PM. Mr. Mills will be entombed in Lakeland Memorial Park following the funeral service.
