Jerry null Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones - Gallagher Funeral Home - Starke on Jan. 27, 2026.
Jerry Rowe, fondly known as "Turkey," a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2026.

He was born on August 14, 1953, in Nashville, Georgia, to Olan Rowe and Doris Watson Summerlin. Jerry moved with his family to Starke, Florida in 1955 and remained a lifelong resident of Bradford County, where his roots ran deep.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Bryan Rowe; his daughter, Justis Branson Smith; his cherished grandsons, Andrew Rowe and Carson Smith; his sister, Sharon Coston; his brothers, Gary Rowe and Mel Summerlin; and his stepbrother, James "Jim" Summerlin, who preceded him in death.

Jerry retired after a long and successful career as an entrepreneur, having built and operated multiple businesses through hard work, determination, and self-reliance. His professional endeavors included real estate and property preservation, as well as the training of German Shorthaired Pointers for upland bird hunting.

Beyond his professional life, Jerry was deeply rooted in the outdoors and the traditions of country living. He owned and operated a quail hunting preserve and was a skilled bird-dog trainer. He spent countless hours horseback riding, team roping, fishing, and guiding fishing charters. His life was defined by a strong work ethic, independence, and a deep respect for the land, wildlife, and sporting traditions he loved.

A private memorial service for family and friends will be held on February 14, 2026.

Memorial Contributions:

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jerry's memory to one of the following hunting conservation organizations:

His legacy lives on in the land he loved, the traditions he upheld, and the family he cherished.
