To Diane (and, the Ostrem Family): As a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and the father of a U.S. Marine corp. Veteran, I salute Jerry for his "job well done." Fortunately, I had the honor of working with (and for) Jerry, during my career with VEPCO (recently retired). Among the many things I learned from Jerry was the idea that you got out of life exactly what you put into it. He also taught that it was simply a blessing and an honor to be born an American. Yet, what I'll always remember is how you and Jerry opened my eyes to the delicious sand shark meat I used to throw back to the ocean. In fact, you used to send my wife and I the shark fillets to get us started! May God continue to bless you and your family, during this particular time, as well as the powerful legacy that forever trails in Jerry's wake.

We remember special moments shared in Europe back in the early seventies. Glad we've stayed in contact. We are sure that many have been touched by you Jerry, and Diane as you are easy to know, like, and admire. Now, our hearts are saddened by losing Jerry. Old Navy friends, Love Bob and Huong Kane

Jerry: The Alaska quarters with a grizzly bear came out the day you passed. You always said, If you want to be a bear be a grizzly bear. Love Sissy

Uncle Jerry, we will always cherish our memories of you: the time I was a little girl and you took me and my girlfriends swimming and you bought all of us new bathing suits (except me because I was too picky); when Joe and I got to spend our honeymoon week with you and Auntie Diane and we went to Chesapeake Bay and the amusement park in Williamsburg; when Joe was traveling to Baltimore and we got to bring the boys to meet you for a visit; to all the crazy and thoughtful little gifts and trinkets you'd send us for our home or cabin. You never missed a birthday and we took joy in getting cards and letters throughout the year with pictures of you and Auntie and the fish you'd catch, or some crazy thing your goofy cats were doing. Boy, you did love your kitties. I believe there's a special place in heaven for you, right alongside all your pets you've had all these years. Auntie Diane, we are so sorry for your loss and please know you are in our hearts and prayers and that you can call us for anything, anytime. We love you very much, and will miss Uncle Jerry more than words can say.
