Jerry Perry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Funeral Directors - Garland on Apr. 11, 2025.
In Loving Memory of
Jerry Wayne Perry
1938 - 2025
Jerry was born March 20, 1938 in Dallas and passed away April 7, 2025 in Dallas, Texas at 87 years old. Jerry is remembered as a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend whose legacy touched and impacted not only his family, but the town where he lived and made home. One of Jerry's proudest achievements was his work serving his community as Battalion Chief of the Garland Fire Department, where he'd served for 36 years of his life. He married Gail Chapman on March 25, 1966 and they were together 55 years before Gail passed. He will be dearly missed.
Outside of his service with the Fire Department, Jerry enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, listening to old country music and playing his daily game of solitaire. The family would like to thank everyone who came to visit Jerry; especially during his hospital stays. Even the staff would comment that they'd never seen so many visitors- a testament to Jerry's lasting impact on the family and community he loved and served.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Richard Wayne Perry and wife Adina, Donald Lynn Perry and wife Beth, Lowell Ray Perry and wife Trisha; step-daughter, Beverly Ann Thompson and husband Tommy; step-son, Kevin Dwayne Recer; twenty-one grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded by his wife, Gail Perry; parents, E.O. and Mary Perry; stepson Brian Keith Recer, and stepdaughter Lisa Michelle Anderson.
Visitation for Jerry will be held at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, April 15, 2025 in Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland, TX. Services will follow at 10:30 AM at Williams Memorial Chapel. Interment will be held in Pleasant Grove Cemetery later that afternoon, at 1:00PM in Climax, TX.
The family thanks you for your prayers and presence during this time.
