Jerry David Potts, 63, entered eternal life on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born in Louisville on November 15, 1959 to the late Norman and Stella Potts (Casey). Jerry honorably served his country in the United States and Army. He worked at the University of Louisville Hospital as a Surgical Technologist in the OR. Jerry attended church services at Free Gospel Fellowship Church in Pekin, Indiana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. Jerry was handy with a wrench. He enjoyed working on and building cars in his free time. In recent years he traded the cars for working on his grandchildren's toys. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Norman and Mary Meredith and by his sister-in-laws, Annie Wynn and Judy Jonas.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Donna Potts of Borden, Indiana, his daughter, Stella Potts (James) of Clarksville, Indiana, his brothers, Randy Potts of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Roger Potts of Clarksville and Larry Potts of Jeffersonville, his sister, Jeanie McCaffrey of Austin, Indiana, his grandchildren, Riley, Reanna and Ryanna, his brother-in-laws, Jeff Meredith, Barney Meredith and John Meredith and his sister-in-laws, Rebecca Corn, Faye Meredith, Connie Reynolds and Evelyn Meredith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Mentor Cemetery in Birds Eye Indiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
