My first meeting Jerry was when he played with the Red Counts band many years ago. My brother, Bubba Jordan was the singer. I loved to hear Jerry play. What a talent. God bless. David Jordan

I have to echo the exact words of my friend, Bucky Barrett! He was a musical genius, and a wonderful human being! He was very well rounded from fishing, Motorcycles, And constant hobbies. He will certainly be in my heart forever as an inspiration when I was a young man! It was indeed, a pleasure knowing him

My deepest condolences to Anna, Julie, Peyton and family.
Like Bucky said, Jerry was always a great inspiration to me as well. He was my first true teacher and mentor in studio production, and I never questioned his hearing and attention to detail. Playing live with him was always a blast. He had a great sense of humor and radiated joy in his music. Without necessarily being schooled in notation, he had innate perfect pitch and could play guitar or piano as well as anyone. Period. On top of that he had a very smooth voice, always with a soulful delivery. But what Jerry would want everyone to know more than anything was that he loved Jesus Christ and was devoted in his Christian walk. Thank you Jerry, claim your reward in heaven with our Lord.

Jerry was such an inspiration to me.
I took some lessons from him in the early 60s and he was a GUITAR GURU GENIUS . He did indeed go out to California and play with the Champs and came back to Mississippi and showed me some of those Great guitar licks. Some of the things he showed me back then, I still use today. He was way ahead of his time in Mississippi. The guitar Jerry is holding in the photo of him used to be my guitar. I sold it to him in 1964. He made it sound better than I ever could. Not only could Jerry play the guitar, he played keyboards and of course Bass and don´t let me forget that he was one fantastic singer! I always looked up to him. May you rest in peace my friend and GUITAR GURU GENIUS.
God bless you Jerry Pucket!!!
