Jerry Wayne Rainwaters

We are sad to announce that on December 31, 2025, we had to say goodbye to Jerry Wayne Rainwaters, 69 of Stafford, Virginia also known as the man, the myth, the legend.

He is survived by his five children, Tucker Barrett and wife Bethe of Great Falls, MT., Bradley Barrett and wife Robin of Billings, MT., John Rainwaters of Lynwood, WA., Lisa Noble and her husband William of Troy, NY., and Dezaree Rainey and her husband James of King George, VA.; and ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving Jerry is his three sisters and one brother, Angelia Howell of Muncie, IN., Bernettia Clayton and her husband Vance of Bowling Green, KY., April Wright of Smiths Grove, KY., and Ed Rainwaters and his wife Teresa of Muncie, IN.

He is preceded in death by his son, William Rainwaters; wife Barbara Rainwaters; sister Mary Conley; father John Rainwaters; and his mother, Evelyn Gipson Sizemore.

Jerry was first and foremost and will always be remembered as a Marine. He proudly served 25 years of dedicated service in the United States Marine Corps. Following his retirement from the Marines he continued his government career as an Auditor for an additional 20 years for a total of 45 years of government service.

Jerry was a loving Father, Poppy, Grandpa, and Brother who cared deeply for his family and friends, otherwise known as his tribe.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
