Jerry T. Rivers Sr., a beloved father and friend, passed away on April 26, 2023. He will be remembered as a man of courage, humor, and an unwavering love for his family and country.

Jerry had 12 years of dedicated service in the Army Reserves, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Jerry was stationed in Hohenfels, Germany, where he faced the challenges of military life with unwavering determination.

Born on May 15, 1956, to parents Theodore Rivers and Pauline Rivers, Jerry grew up with a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He found solace in the beauty of nature, cherishing hunting trips and fishing expeditions that provided him with a sense of peace and tranquility. Jerry was known for his sense of humor. He had an innate ability to make people laugh, effortlessly lifting their spirits. Jerry found solace in his love for classic Western films, particularly those featuring iconic actors like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.

Above all else, Jerry treasured his family. As a devoted father, he poured his heart into providing a nurturing and loving home. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, from family vacations spent exploring the great outdoors to evenings gathered around the television, sharing laughter, and watching his favorite Westerns.

Jerry was predeceased by his father, Theodore Rivers, and his sister, Theresa.
He is survived by his children: Jerry Rivers Jr. of Buena Vista, CO, Tanya Rivers and her partner Tom Sanborn of Grafton, NH, Macie Rivers and partner Conner Ladd of St. Johnsbury, VT, Tom Rivers of Seabrook, NH, and Adam Rivers of Haverhill, MA; his fiancé, Rose Leonard and her son Jacob of St. Johnsbury, VT; his four brothers and a sister. He is also survived by his three granddaughters, Jasmhyn Rivers of Salem, NH, Sonya Rivers of Essex, VT, and Alexis Rivers of Grafton, NH.

A graveside service is to be held at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery on Thursday, June 29 at 10AM.
