Jerry Dean Round, 90, of Galva, KS passed away August 2, 2025, at McPherson Health & Rehab. Jerry was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on July 20, 1935, the son of George Thomas and Dorothea Olivette (Means) Round. Jerry attended Bliss Junior High School, and graduated from Central High School, St. Joseph, MO, in 1954. He then attended Junior College, St. Joseph, MO, Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, KS, IBM Training Center, St. Louis, MO, and MCR Training Center, World Headquarters, Dayton, OH. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church Family. He served in the Missouri National Guard. Jerry was a salesman of men's apparel for Woolf Brothers, Overland Park, KS; Assistant Store Manager for W.T. Grant Company, St. Louis, MO; Assistant Store Manager for S.S. Kresge Company, Jennings, MO; Account Supervisor for Statistical Tabulating Corporation; a Data Processing Manager for Jay Zee, Inc. "a Men's and Boy's apparel MFG."; the Systems Supervisor and Systems Analyst for the Missouri Farmers Association in Columbia, MO; from 1962 to 1972, Jerry was the Director of Data Processing for Nelly Don, Inc. " a Ladies' apparel MFG" in Kansas City, MO; from 1972 to 1976 as a Director of Production Control for Gay Gibson, Inc. "a Ladies' Apparel MFG"; from 1976 to 1978 was the Senior Systems Analyst and Manufacturing Industry Specialist for NCR Corporation, World Headquarters, in Dayton, OH; from 1979 to 1985 was the Systems Analyst, Protect Manager, Product Development manager, Manager Product Acquisition, Editorial Director and Director of Operations for McGraw-Hill Training Systems of Overland Park, KS; from 1985 to 1992 was the Director of Production Services for Mast Advertising and Publishing Inc. Overland Park, KS; and from 1994 until 2016, along with his wife Vicki, was the owner and partner of the Galva Emporium Antique Mall in Galva. Jerry was a member of the Data Processing Management Association; the American Production and Inventory Control Society; The American Apparel Production Association & the Sports Officials Association, NYSCA & ACED certified Coach for Football, Basketball, & Baseball; Licensed Kansas Football Official; and past President of S.M. South Booster Club & Board Member/Treasurer; Coach of Football and Cheerleading Club, all of Johnson County. Jerry Dean Round was united in marriage to Vicki Lynn Shup on April 20, 1970 in Tuscumbia, Missouri at the County Court House. The couple established their first home together in Columbia, Missouri. They were blessed with the birth of a son, Jason in 1974. The couple moved to North Kansas City, MO until 1976 when they moved to Dayton, OH. In 1978 they moved back to North Kansas City, MO and in 1980 they moved to Lenexa, KS until 1986 when they moved to Overland Park, KS. In 1990 they moved to McPherson until 1994 and later to Galva. He is survived by his wife, Vicki of Galva, and his son, Jason Round of Grandview, MO. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Shirley Wilkerson and her husband, James. Cremation is planned. There are no scheduled services or gatherings. Condolences and sympathy cards can be mailed to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid, McPherson, KS 67460.
