Jerry H. Rounds

Jerry H. Rounds, 70, of Manlius, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his home. He was born in Syracuse on May 25, 1955 to Edward and Dee Rounds and was a graduate of Cazenovia High School Class of '73. Jerry was known for his strong work ethic and began working at Costello Farm and then as a security supervisor at Syracuse University. He was a tractor trailer driver for P&C and retired from the Onondaga County Department of Public Works as a heavy equipment operator. Jerry also operated a private contracting business and worked up until the day he passed. He was also employed for 50 years at the New York State Fair where he was in charge of the press and artists at the Grandstand. Jerry truly enjoyed his work and operating heavy equipment.
He is survived by his mother, Dee Rounds of Manlius; his four brothers, Earl Eddie Rounds of Hilton, NY, Daniel Rounds of Canastota, Mick Rounds of Fabius and Martin John Rounds of Pompey Center; his nieces, Cassandra D. (Kevin) Berry of Middletown, PA, Danielle Lyn Rounds of Canastota and Kristie (Rich) Root of New Woodstock; his world traveler nephew, Kyle Martin Rounds as well as several great nieces and great nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his father Edward in 2007.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2025 with services to follow at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. Private burial will be in Pompey Center Cemetery.
