Jerry Eugene Seivers, 79, passed away on March 15, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with family at his side.
Born July 20, 1946, to Ruth and Vic Seivers, Jerry grew up in Walkertown, NC, and graduated from East Forsyth High School.
In November of 1965, Jerry married his wife, Judy. Shortly thereafter, in the early months of 1966, he was drafted into the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He proudly served his country for two years before returning home to continue building the life they had started together.
After his military service, Jerry worked briefly at Fairchild Industries before beginning a long career with Stroh’s Brewery, formerly Schlitz. Through dedication and hard work, he spent 30 years with the company before retiring.
Jerry spent most of his adult life in Winston-Salem, living in the Ardmore neighborhood where he built a life centered around family and hard work. He was known as a steady, dependable, and quiet man who believed deeply in family life. He was fair and consistent, holding strong values and expectations, and led his family with a firm but caring hand.
In his free time, Jerry enjoyed woodworking, building things with his hands, and helping others whenever he could. He also enjoyed NASCAR and traveling to different venues to watch races. Above all, he loved the outdoors. Fishing and camping were among his favorite pastimes, and Oak Island, NC, was his favorite place to spend time.
Those who knew Jerry will remember a man who lived a simple and honest life, valued family, and found his greatest joy in time spent outdoors and with the people he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth & Vic Seivers, and wife, Judy Seivers.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Julie Hudspeth (David) and John Seivers (Cathy); grandchildren, Ashlyn and Brianna Seivers; his brother, James Victor Seivers, Jr.; and two beloved nephews, Cary Cann (Roxane) and Grant Cann.
Jerry would likely prefer that those remembering him share a story, spend time outdoors, or enjoy a cold beer in good company.
A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Ardmore Moravian Church. Following the service, family and friends are invited for a time of visitation in the fellowship hall.
