Jerry passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Bay Shores Senior Care at the age of 81. Jerry was born May 15, 1944 in Bay City, Michigan. On June 15, 1968 he married the love of his life, Sharon Shaw. They shared 52 years of marriage before her death in 2021.
Jerry was retired from General Motors after 36 years of service. He was a people person and enjoyed getting to work early to have time to visit with people before his shift started.
He always talked of the “good ole days” when he and Sharon would race cars at the dragstrip. He loved cars and had many through the years. Jerry was the proud owner of a classic car and won many trophies and awards at car shows. Besides going to car shows, he loved to golf, and was an avid titanic collector.
He will be remembered for being a friend to all, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law. He was always cheering on his grandchildren in anything and everything they did.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Tom) McInerney; three grandchildren, Noah McInerney and his fiancé, Michele Kaiser, Erica McInerney and Nathan McInerney. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Shaw on January 12, 2021.
At the request of Jerry, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to All Saints High School.
