Jerry and I were colleagues at Wheat First Union in Richmond. I learned a great deal from Jerry and he made a lasting impression. You have my deepest condolences.

I met Jerry in 1963 when we were freshmen at what was then Georgia State College. We had some classes together and were part of a lunch bunch that ate lunch together in the school cafeteria for a few years.

I managed to locate him a year or so ago and we corresponded by e-mail. He was going to invite me to visit him at his home in North Carolina but that didn't happen and I regret not being able to see him one last time.

Jerry was a good friend and I will add that he was also a good athlete.

Becky and I are so saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. He was one of the greatest men I knew. I will always treasure the knowledge and skills he passed on to me, and there will be a void now that he's gone.
