Jerry was a great tribute to the teaching profession. He possessed a prodigious intellect , a marvelous sense -of- humor , and compassion for his fellow man. I consider myself fortunate to have counted him among my friends.I shall miss him deeply.

I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Jerry's passing. He is so vibrant in my mind's eye. He was a dear friend from my Stanford student days where we both worked in Don Perkel's lab. I had always want to renew our friendship and will always regret missing the opportunity. Please let me know how I can make a donation in Jerry's memory to a cause near and dear to him.

I was so sorry to learn of Jerry's death. I didn't know him very well and only really knew him in high school. But with that said I knew him as a nice guy and fun to be around. I also enjoyed watching him play football. He made the games exciting. You have my sympathies, and may you find peace.

I have just learned of Jerry's passing. I played football with Jerry at Kearny High School. I learned many years later that he and I both pursued careers as biologists in higher education. I had the opportunity to bring him to my campus (at that time) in South Texas to discuss better ways to teach biolog. It was a pleasure to see him again in a professional capacity. He was a good guy and I'm very sorry to learn of his passing.

To the Waldvogel Family, I know you don't know me, but I wanted you to know how much Dr. Waldvogel meant to me. Dr. Waldvogel taught me Biology my freshman year at Clemson..He was the best professor that I ever had---His enthusiasm inspired me. He loved what he did, and his passion was evident every single day!! He loved Biology--and he made me LOVE Biology! I will never forget the day that he came into class as Charles Darwin!! He was just the best teacher! I am so sorry for your loss--I wanted you to know that I am truly a better person for having known your husband and your Dad. Blessings, Christy

I had Jerry Waldvogel for my Freshmen biology class and will always remember how excited he was about learning and how he tried to get us as excited as well. I had just sent a note to friends who would be attending Clemson this year to look him up as a professor that was great for working with students. This man will be greatly missed.
