Jerry Wiley, a beloved and familiar face to many, passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on May 28, 1960, Jerry spent his early years in Phenix, VA, where he grew up and established deep roots in the community. At a young age, Jerry was baptized and became a member of Triumph Baptist Church in Darlington Heights, VA. Known for his loving nature, friendly demeanor, and bubbly personality, Jerry touched the lives of everyone he met, never meeting a stranger and leaving a lasting impression on his hometown. Immediately after high school, Jerry married Nathalie Ferguson (mother of Kimberly Mosley).

After his time in Phenix, Jerry moved to Appomattox, VA, where he resided for many years before moving to Buckingham, VA, where he lived with his now-deceased wife, Patricia Wiley, and created many cherished memories and friendships. In his final years, he resided in Lynchburg, VA, where he continued to embrace life and connect with those around him. Throughout his life, Jerry remained a devoted and caring individual, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of advice. Jerry was a jokester at heart and loved to make people laugh, bringing joy and light to any room he entered. He had a deep love for music and singing, often filling his surroundings with lively harmonies.

For many years of his life, Jerry worked at Thomasville Furniture in Appomattox until the business closed. Afterward, he became employed at KDC in Lynchburg, VA, where he met many of his long-time friends. Later, he retired from US Pipe in Lynchburg, VA

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson, and his mother, Elizabeth Wiley. He is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly Mosley, who will forever cherish the memories they shared, and Crystal (Jerome) Knight. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Alexas Hamlett, Alina Mosley, and Ava Bradett, who brought immense joy to his life, his grandson, Israel Marable, and his great-granddaughter, Khalani Smith, whom he adored and enjoyed picking up from the bus stop after school. Additionally, he leaves behind his twin sister, Mary “Teresa” (Willis) Hamlett, and his sisters Debbie (Ryan) Walthall, and Carolyn (William) Hamlett, as well as his brothers, Kenneth Wiley and Gordon Wiley. He is also survived by family in Philadelphia, his stepdaughters Zelelia Harris, Tasshawnda Glover, and Larnesha Harris, and his beloved family dog, Milo, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Jerry's legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will be receiving family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
