Mr. Jerry L. Yeager Sr., age 71, of the Laws Hill Community of Marshall County, died Monday, June 23, 2025 in Columbia, Tennessee. Jerry was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and was a son of the late Thomas Lofton and Dovie Mary Jane Howell Yeager. In addition to his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by his wife, Jan Yeager, who died in 2019, two children, James Wilson Yeager and Terry Dewayne Yeager, a brother, Thomas LaVergne Yeager, and sisters, Evie Sue Leverette and Glenda King Joyce.
Jerry was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in the Mt. Lebanon Community of Marshall County. He retired after 26 years with Eaton Corporation in Shelbyville, and, following his retirement, was the co-owner of the Country Diner Restaurant in Chapel Hill. Jerry loved bowling and was a member of the Swinging Seniors Bowling Club in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Mr. Yeager is survived by his sons, Jerry (Christy) Yeager Jr., Laws Hill Community, Taylor (Jennifer) Yeager, Unionville, TN; grandchildren, Preston Yeager, Lofton Yeager, Madi Yeager, Cali Yeager, Matthew Yeager, Emily Yeager; great grandchildren, Titus Porter-Yeager, Noah Yeager; sister, Brenda (Rick) Anderton, Lieper’s Fork, TN.
Family members will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Haley officiating. Burial will follow in Hopper Cemetery in the Laws Hill Community.
Jerry Yeager Jr., Taylor Yeager, Preston Yeager, Lofton Yeager, Matthew Yeager, and Wayne Kelley will serve as pallbearers.
