Nyamwaya, Jerusha K. age 68, of St. Anthony Village, passed away on September 11, 2021 after a long illness, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents, Jeremiah and Fridah Oigo, and siblings Agnes Osoro and Samuel Matara. Jerusha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Meshack, children Dorothy, Denis, Caroline and Glena; siblings Samson, Mary, Isaac, Jane and Henry; grandchildren Ratemo, Ndege, Musa, Darrick, Eamonn, Zoie, Chloe and Samatha and great-granddaughter Brynlee. Jerusha greatly loved her church and community. She took on leadership roles within the church in both the Women's ministry and the Hospitality committee. She was a devoted choir member and sung Alto in the church choir. Jerusha loved people and especially enjoyed cooking large delicious meals for the Kenyan community in Minnesota. Everyone was welcome at her home. There's no one within the Kenyan community who hasn't tasted Jerusha's delicious food. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, September 23rd at Kenya Community Church, 6625 Humboldt Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55430, United States starting at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
