Jesse James Carson, 77 of
Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Piedmont Healthcare Cartersville surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street,
Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, 790 Indian Mound Road SE,
Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street,
Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Jesse James Carson, Sr. was born on March 12, 1947 in
Cartersville, Georgia to the late Charlie and Nellie Carson. He was called to his Heavenly home on February 13, 2025 to be with the Lord.
Deacon Jesse lived his life to the fullest. He was employed with Cartersville City School System for fifty-nine years and during his tenure he was a School Custodian, Bus Monitor, and Ticket Master for school events. He was a true dire-hard Purple Hurricanes Fan. In other words he LOVED his CANES!!!
Jesse spent twenty-two years as a Maintenance Technician for E Z Mills. He was also well known for working at Billie Neal Service Station. Jesse was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was truly loved and respected by all that knew him. While touching so many lives with his words of wisdom and encouragement. His smile would light up a room filled with darkness and he was as wise as he was strong.
Jesse's faith in the Lord kept him at peace with the challenges that everyday life would bring. He will truly be missed.
He is preceded in death by wife, Betty Jo Hyatt Carson; parents, Charlie and Nellie Carson; sister, Shirley Carson; brothers, Willie, Charles Jr., and Nathaniel Carson.
Jesse leaves to cherish his loving memories; children, Samantha Levorn Carson and Jesse James Carson, Jr.; two grandchildren, Jessica and Kelly Troy Harris; one great-grandchild, Divine Henderson; sisters, Betty McAfee, Ollie Nell Moore; brothers, Robert Lee (Cynthia) Carson and Oscar Carson; special family members, Kelly Troy Harris, Sr., Margie McClain and Emma Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
