Jesse was born on May 8, 1955 in
Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mr. & Mrs. Jesse H. and Margaret R. Cuzzort.
As a young boy, Jesse was very thoughtful. If he was given candy, gum or a treat, he would ask for the same to share with his siblings. Jesse also loved the roller coaster rides. He would move quickly from ride to ride getting in as much fun as he could before the end of the day. Jesse loved animals. He never met a dog he didn't like. He treated all his canine friends with a lot of love and compassion. Jesse was also a reliable source for fixing electronic problems. He assisted and helped many people with computer issues over the years.
Jesse attended Howe High School. He had a very sharp memory and would watch a movie or TV show once, and be able to recite a lot of it verbatim. This was even as a young boy. Over the years, Jesse held many different types of jobs. At the time of his death, he was still employed with Allegion, with which he was held in high regard as a CSR.
Jesse was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the 1990's. He spent many years helping people to come to a knowledge of the Bible's wonderful hope. He spent considerable time in the last few years helping Bruce Robertson, whom he had studied the Bible with. Bruce's sight limitations allowed for Jess to be who he was. He was caring and thoughtful. Bruce received much assistance from Jesse, by Jesse providing rides to Kingdom Hall, to out-of-town conventions, and in days spent in the ministry. And yes, Jesse loved Bruce's dogs, Freddie and Shay.
Jesse also loved older ones. He was good friends with Earl Bishop, and loved Alma Lufcy. He said that he was always impressed by her zeal. But most of all, he truly loved his mother. He had fond memories of how she had raised him. He also spoke of how much he loved the rest of his family. He would tell all of his friends at the Kingdom Hall about his siblings and his mom and dad.
Jesse will be remembered by many favorite expressions. When he would come into the Kingdom Hall, with Bruce holding onto his arm, he would always say "Buenos Dias" in a whispered undertone. When it was time to go home, according to him to get his "beauty sleep", he would follow up with "See ya in a month".
On December 19, 2023, Jesse passed away after a six month battle with cancer. He died at his family home of 54 years with loved ones by his side. He will be truly missed.
Jesse was preceded in death by both his parents, and sister Diana L. Throckmorton. He leaves behind sisters Connie Williams, Donna Deer, Dedra Parsley, and Debra Nolan. He also leaves behind a brother, Jeffery Cuzzort, along with several nieces and nephews.
Services for Jesse will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4809 E. Raymond Street - South Hall.
