Mr. Jesse Howard was born on May 26, 1929, and answered the call of his Master on January 2, 2026. He peacefully transitioned from this earthly life in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, and entered into eternal rest.
Mr. Howard was a man who feared God, honored His Word, and lived a life grounded in faith, order, and obedience. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Living God, where he worshiped, believed, and trusted God throughout every season of his life. His faith was not loud, but it was lived, demonstrated daily through his actions, discipline, and commitment to righteousness.
He was a strict father who believed in discipline, structure, and respect, teaching his children the importance of accountability and responsibility. Though firm in his ways, he was a good daddy who loved his family deeply, provided faithfully, and stood as a covering for his household. His instruction and example will forever remain etched in the lives of those he raised.
For many years, Mr. Howard labored as a farmer, working the land with diligence and humility. He was also employed by The Union Pacific Railroad Company, where he carried the same work ethic, dependability, and dedication that defined his life. He resided in Dansby, Arkansas for many years, where he raised his family and established roots within the community. In his later years, he moved to
Haynes, Arkansas, which he called home until the Lord called him to rest.
In his quiet moments, he found peace in fishing, enjoying God's creation and the stillness that came with it. He was a devoted father, a respected elder, and a man whose life reflected endurance, faith, and perseverance.
Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Meanus Howard; his children, Jesse Howard, Jr., Lee Edwards Howard, and Jackie V. Howard Funches; his sisters and brothers; his grandsons, Brandon Howard and Raymond Howard; his great-grandchild, Abrielle Funches; and other loved ones who have gone on to glory.
He leaves to cherish his blessed memory seven sons, Eddie, Louis, Jerry, and Morris Howard, all of Peoria, Illinois; Leotis (Brenda) Howard and Terry Howard, both of
Forrest City, Arkansas; and Leon (Fairnetta) Howard of Jonesboro, Arkansas; nine daughters, Rosie (Monroe) Pointer of Dansby, Arkansas; Debra Gates and Fannie Walters, both of Peoria, Illinois; Lizzie (Lynden) Robinson and Elmira (Michael) Williams, both of Atlanta, Georgia; Lela Jenkins and Paula Howard, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Marion Hill and Shelia Howard, both of
Forrest City, Arkansas; one sister; along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Jesse Howard has laid down his earthly burdens and taken his rest. He has fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. Though he has transitioned from labor to reward, his memory, teachings, and testimony will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
