Obituary of Jesse Julius Radvansky
Jesse Julius Radvansky passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the age of 93, in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Theresa (Laszlo) Radvansky and brother, Rudy Radvansky. Jesse leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 69 years, Charlotte (Matullo) Radvansky; sons, John Radvansky and wife Paula, Michael Radvansky and wife Annette, Robert Radvansky and wife Cathy, Fred Radvansky and wife Meg; daughters, Elizabeth Radvansky, Anne Fowler and husband Don, Frances Radvansky and mate Earnest; brother, John Radvansky; sister, Alice Myers; grandchildren, Christen Engel and husband Danny, Wesley Radvansky, Gianna Radvansky, Shannon Radvansky McGee and husband Evan, Ali Barry and husband Conor, Ashton Radvansky, Brittany Price and husband Evan, Anthony Fowler and wife Sara, Trey Simpson, and Nathan Simpson; great grandchildren, Ethan Engel, Peyton Price, and Ilya Price; along with a host of many other family and friends.
Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years, before being honorably discharged in 1955. He then began his career in New Jersey working for a warehousing company while also attending night school at St. Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. He graduated in 1963 with the support of his loving wife Charlotte. At that time, they were a family of six. Union Carbide then moved their family to Atlanta, Georgia in 1964, where he served in a customer service role. The family moved again in 1967 to the Chicago area where they lived in Lombard, and Jesse also served in a customer service role. In 1971, the family moved to Clear Lake City, Texas. Jesse was tasked with opening a grass roots transportation office for Union Carbide. He put together a wonderful team of transportation folks and had a great time. Union Carbide asked him to relocate to Connecticut in 1974, but as six of his seven children were still in school, Jesse decided not to relocate his family again. He subsequently became the VP of Marketing and Sales for Cango Corporation, which was a part of Enterprise Products Company. Years later, Cango was renamed to Enterprise Transportation Company. Jesse remained with Enterprise until he retired in 2011 at the age of 80 and was an active member of the National Tank Truck Carriers Association.
Jesse leaves behind a legacy of hard work, commitment, and kindness. His children, and many others, learned from him that relationships matter in business; Jesse never met a stranger. He encouraged them to be kind to everyone they met. Jesse will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Jesse at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, August 7, beginning at 10:30 am. Interment will follow the Mass at Houston National Cemetery.
