Jesse and I were undergraduate classmates at Morgan State College where we both pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Inc , worked together during the summers at a camp in Verbank, New York and after graduation would talk via the phone and meet up at Homecoming. A real decent person who will be missed! My condolences to the family members!

Mr. Smith was a kind man who cared very much about us kids when we were at Mayfield. He was a role model for many of us who remember him kindly. My condolences to his family and friends who cared about and loved him dearly.

Mr. Smith had a big impact on my transition from Baltimore to Columbia. He was a no nonsense type of Principal that was passionate enough to take time to chat with students in the hallways or via private talks in the office. My condolences to the family and people that were close to him.

Jesse Smith was the best principal. He truly loved his students and most times laughed when they were outrageous. He was respected by staff and students.
