Jesse Michael Strange passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at an assisted living facility in Cleburne. Affectionately known by family and friends as “Mikey,” he was born on July 1, 1948, in Meridian, Mississippi, to J.E. and Mary “Francis” Strange.
Mikey met the love of his life, Connie Houston, in high school, and they were married on January 21, 1968. They spent their early married years in Meridian and Gautier, Mississippi, before settling in Cleburne in 1979, where they made their home for the next 37 years.
Jesse was a devout Christian and a member of the Episcopal Church. He greatly enjoyed golfing with friends and welcoming newcomers to the game, especially cherishing the Gomez family Ruidoso golf trips and the Woodard golf trips with fellow Cleburnites. Mikey loved adventures with Connie and their friends, enjoyed horse racing, and never passed up good barbecue. He was a lifelong Houston Astros fan dating back to the Colt 45s. He also followed the Los Angeles Dodgers and could almost always be found with a baseball game on during MLB season.
Mikey was a highly sought after Commercial and Industrial Project Manager, working for several companies and building everything from Steel Mills to Silicone Wafer factories and power plants. He retired in 2014 from CH2M Hill to spend more time with Connie and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Connie Strange, and by his parents, J.E. and Francis Strange.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Strange and wife Kym of Texarkana, and Eli Strange and wife Heather of Mineral Wells; grandchildren Amber Hooks and husband Wesley of New Boston, Eva Elmore, Caroline Strange, Dax Seahorn, and Maddux Seahorn; great-grandchildren Jesse Hooks and Jersey Hooks; and many nieces and nephews.
Jesse Michael Strange will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
