Jesse Freeman Wallace, 88
SHELBYVILLE

Jesse Freeman Wallace, age 88, of Shelbyville, formerly of Henry County, passed away after an illness on Jan. 1, 2026.
Jesse was born in Pleasureville, Ky. on Nov. 22, 1937, to the late C. A. and Bessie Blackaby Wallace.
Jesse worked 16 ½ years for Belknap, 3 years at G.E. and 23 years at the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Jesse had a servant's heart which was evidenced by his involvement in his community. Jesse was a charter member of Pleasureville Fire Department, charter member of Eminence EMS and member of Eminence Fire Dept. He was a Charter member of the Optimist Club of Eminence and Henry County, member of New Castle Lions Club and chair of the county fair for several years. He was Lt. Governor of Ky-West Virginia Optimist Club serving as chair of numerous youth activities. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He was citizen of the year in both New Castle and Eminence. Jesse served in the USMC Reserves. He was a member of the Eminence Christian Church and served the church in many capacities over the years, serving on committees and boards as well as serving as Deacon. Jesse was an avid University of Kentucky fan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Wallace and his sister, Betty S. Larson
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia McCrystal Wallace; his son, Stephen Wallace; his sister, Nancy McGruder (Travis); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at the Eminence Christian Church, 5333 Main Street in Eminence. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Eminence Christian Church, P. O. Box 123, Eminence, KY 40019 or WHAS Crusade for Children, 520 W. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
