SAVANNAH - Sister Jessica Alice Bass, 37 entered eternal rest, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. She was a lifelong native of Savannah, Georgia and was educated in the public schools of Chatham County. She was a graduate of H. V. Jenkins High School Class of 2006. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Armstrong University with concentration in Liberal Studies. Jessica had a love for caring and nurturing children. She then became a teacher at Savannah Country Day School for many years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Carver Heights. Jessica was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was an inspiration and uplifted many of those who were around her. She touched many lives in special ways. She loved working with kids, and her specialty was teaching young children how to read at an early age. She was an amazing mother, fully devoted to making her daughter smile. Jessica loved to travel. She would often plan many trips and share excitement with others about those trips. She is preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Bryant Bass, her grandparents, Odie James Bass Sr., Herbert Bryant Sr., Alice Marie Bass and Edna Johnson Bryant, an aunt, Diane Bryant Johnson and an uncle, Herbert Bryant, Jr. Jessica will be missed dearly by her daughter, Peytin Jessica Mitchell-Bass, her father, Minister Odie James Bass, Jr., all of Savannah; four brothers, Joshua Emil Bass (Angel Bass) of Loganville, GA; Odie "Bubba" James Bass III, Jordan Anthony Bass all of Savannah; Jerel "Benaiah Israel" Troy Bryant (Atarah Israel) of Columbia, SC, six nieces, Jazlyn Emily Bass of Loganville, GA, Ariella Israel, Tekoa Israel, Zaria Israel, Zuri Israel, all of Columbia, SC, Naomi Henderson, of Chicago, IL, five nephews, Ja'Prince Emil Bass of Loganville, GA, Jabez Israel, Micah Israel, all of Columbia, SC, Jerel Bryant of Savannah, Jayden Shammsidden of Fairburn, GA, four aunts, Carolyn Johnson (Jeff) of Columbus, GA, Elizabeth Jenkins, Shirley Owens (Michael) and Gloria Bryant; five uncles, Bruce Bryant, Anthony Bryant, Bruce Bass (Priscilla), James Bass all of Savannah and Tony Bass of Oklahoma, special sisters Brittany Bynes, Italy McCray, DeAshley Miller, Ebony Smith, Meredith Thomas all of Savannah, a host of other relatives, church family and many friends.
