Jessica Marie Evans Obituary
On January 6, 1989, a princess was born by the name Jessica Shavonne Marie Evans to April Evans and Darrin Heggs. Jessica was the oldest of 5 siblings. As a child growing up, Jessica's family instilled in her the importance of God. Her grandmother, Inett Evans, a devoted member of Mt. Olive Seventh-Day Adventist church made sure Jessica attended service every Sabbath.
Jessica attended Berean Junior Academy and ultimately graduated from Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy in 2007. Upon graduating, she entered the medical field, where she earned various certificates and certifications. Although she excelled in that field, she always had a passion for the Culinary Arts. Soon after, she pursued her dream and attended the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute.
Although she enjoyed cooking and excelled at it, Jessica's greatest achievement was being a mother. Jessica and Kenny Butler were blessed with two beautiful angels Kennedy and Karson. As a devoted mother, Jessica wanted to ensure that her children were surrounded with love. Through her passion for cooking, Jessica introduced them to various cultures and cuisines.
Jessica was called home on February 1, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Kennedy Butler; mother, April Evans; father, Darrin Heggs; grandmothers, Inett Evans and Mary Walker; siblings, Demario Cheely, Erica Heggs, and Deon Troy; godmother, Ramona Ryan; her close friends, Charlita "LeLe" Brown, Joshua "Bruh" Flowers, Shadarian "Show" Alexander, Charine "Reeny" Taylor, and Johnnie Ashford along with a host of family and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her son, Karson Butler; brother; Darrin Heggs; and grandfathers, Jessie Evans, Sr. and Willie Lee Heggs.
Although her physical presence may be absent, the love Jessica had for Kennedy lives on within all of those surrounding her.
